Current skincare Routine! 5 Tips for Better Skin

Hi everyone!

I recently have been overcoming a lot of acne, and the absolute best thing to happen to me has been my Curology treatment! It has totally transformed everything I do for my skin. Instead of buying a product for everything, I literally buy this one bottle that has everything I need all in one. While overcoming acne and hyper pigmentation, I have learned a few things.

1. The importance of Sunscreen! Seriously, sunscreen is huge! Through Curology, you are set up with an online dermatologist who you can ask questions and recommends products for you. She told me that sunscreen in the morning is helpful and can allow the red spots to go away quicker, because the sun won't darken them. I use Drunk Elephant Sunscreen which I purchased at Sephora.
2. The importance of good sleep and a lot of water. Always carry a water bottle and try to get about 8 hours of sleep. It regulates your system and makes a difference.
3. You don't always need toner, spot treatment, face masks, facials, etc. Sometimes doing too much can overstimulate your skin, and lead to a break out which is what happened in my case.
4. Good hygiene. Ladies, please change your pillow cases every week and wash makeup brushes weekly as well. Doing this at least one a week will get rid of some bacterias that can sit on your face.
5. Vitamin D does wonders for hyper pigmentation! My skin is improving in look and overall having a less red appearance. I have been using this product for about a week and I already have great results.

Those are my tips for achieving better skin, and now I will give you the step by step routine I have been following.

Morning:

Night time:

  • Remove makeup with Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser
  • Take cotton pad and wipe face with Garnier micellar cleansing water
  • If the pad still has a lot of makeup, wash face again with foaming cleaner
  • Once face is dry, apply Simple moisturizer
  • After that sets in, and right before bed I apply my Curology.
I started on Curology with a free trial, first month is free you just have to pay shipping. You will get a bottle that looks like this. It will have your name on it (which I blurred out) and your providers name. It is a custom formula for your specific acne, making it very affective.

The Soap I use in the morning and the Curology website have been linked previously through the text. I linked everything else below! I hope this helps anyone struggling with acne or hyper-pigmentation! If you have any tips, tricks or comment please feel free to leave a comment!

Xoxo,
Danielle
