Walmart Fashion Outfits

 Hi girls!

I found some really really cute pieces from walmart and the prices are so good. I put together two outfits that I wanted to share.

The first outfit I put togeher is a crochet dress, which has adorable ruffle sleeves. I am wearing a size L, it runs TTS and is $39. It is a straight cut dress, so I added a belt to give it some shape. I also picked up these tear drop earrings in store, from their time & tru line. I can't find exact ones online so check a retailer near you!

I paired the dress with the cutest jute woven block sandals! I love how unique these are. These also run true to size and are $32. The bag is a pleated bucket bag, it comes in many cute colors, I naturally went with black.

The second option is a matching set! Are we surprised? You all know how much I love a matching set. This one is sooo inexpensive too. The top is $13 and the skirt is $15! I love an effortless summer look, and floral print is always a go to for me during the warmer months.

Favorite Coats and Jackets

Hi loves!
I can not be the only one who is obsessed with jackets. As the weather gets cooler, I tend to grab more cute coats. I love a variety of styles and I have found soo many I adore this season.

1. Gray top coat - The length & wool blend are a dream! It is also such a super chic piece. I got a size 8 and it will be great for under sweaters in the fall. The quality is also amazing & love that it's an amazon find. Price is $79.

2. Wrap coat - This one looks way more expensive than it is! It's such a chic coat, I adore the wrap style. I got a size medium for reference and it is very generous! Price is $105.

3. North Face Parka - Yes this coat is expensive BUT I would rather buy a good coat that will last me then freeze in Chicago winters. I had my previous North face for 5 years and I have just purchased a new one. They last a long time! Worth the money and very warm. Price is $298.

4. Camel Coat - This is my second season wearing this coat and I love it! It just adds the perfect chic touch to any outfit. It is also fairly warm for the cold weather in the Midwest. Price is down to $73!

5. Plaid Blazers - ALL the rage right now. If you don't have one, grab one. You can throw them over just about anything, so versatile for your closet. Price is $40.00

6.  Corduroy Jacket - This one is more for style purposes. I love the retro vibe this one gives. I also love the raw hem, this one came with me on my cali trip! Price is 34.

7. Puffer Jacket - You all have me seen me wear this one like crazy! I love grabbing this one, so easy to throw on & so warm. I personally love the pop of color, but there are so many other shades too. Price is $54.

Fall Boot Guide 2019

1. Black Booties - On that same note, I loved the snakeskin boots so much I bought them in the black and let me tell ya, they are my most worn booties. They go with every outfit effortlessly and I just love how comfy they are!

2. Pop of color - So to me, a pop of color is burgundy because I am such a neutral style person! But these chunky sole burgundy boots stole my heart. They are super edgy and make me feel way cooler than I am. They are also super comfy and affordable.

3. Tan booties - I splurged on a YSL pair I found on mega sale, but I have so many tan booties that I love! These Halogen ones are super similar and way less money.

4. Snakeskin - These are Marc Fisher and honestly are the best pair of snakeskin boots I've seen. I'm really picky about how I want my snakeskin boots to look, and these are the perfect heel & pattern. I'm in love with them!

5. Waterproof - Ladies, if you live in a climate that gets cold/rainy...you need a pair of Sorels. They are fashionable and keep your feet warm and last years. I have a pair I am going on having for 3 years now. The quality is good and you can still look cute when wearing weatherproof shoes.

6. OTK Boots - Over the knee boots are still in style and I'm not mad about it. I have the Stuart Weitzman boots and they are so worth the investment. If you don't want to splurge, try this pair on amazon, which is a dupe for the goodnight macaroon boots that every blogger has.

7. Croc print - These croc kitten heel boots are so chic! Love that animal print is coming back in all types and textures. These are also on my wish list!

8. UTK Boots - These tall suede boots by Sam Edelman are SO in this season. I love hte black so much and I would love to own the tan soon! I love that they go under the knee, it keeps your body nice and proportioned (especially good for my petite friends!)

Favorite Products Lately

Hi loves!

Back this week with my favorite products lately. I like to round up these posts every once and a while to show you guys what I'm loving and using constantly.

https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1sOEsibXA058euQa011SZsJJlUdbEn8fz

1. Beauty Counter Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation - So I've been dabbling in clean beauty & I wanted a foundation that was good for my skin! I wear foundation anywhere from 10-12 hours a day and I wanted to choose an option that was better for me.  This is medium coverage, but build-able. I build it to full coverage daily. It feels light weight on the skin and lasts all day. It does not break down on your face or separate. It's definitely a win for me!  I wear the shade sand.

2. Otterbox Pop Socket Case - Ever since I got this case, it has been a game-changer for me! The pop socket is attached and it is sooo convenient.  It also is not as bulky if you were to add a pop socket to your phone. I also barely drop it now with this new case. It's worth the investment because this case has lifetime limited warranty as well!

3.  Amazon Wrap Sweater -  Ok this has to be my favorite amazon item to date?! So good! The quality is like my Nordstrom sweaters.  I love the wrap detail and I think it will look so good with dark denim or white jeans. Soo many ways to style it!

4. Ouai Leave-In Conditioner  - So I recently finished up my briogeo leave-in conditioner and I was debating what to try. I've always been curious about this brand and I decided to give it a try. I loveee how my hair feels when I use it and not to mention the amazing smell.

5.Bauble Bar Drusy Earrings - I don't like a huge statement earring but I do like something subtle. These are the perfect amount of glam and a great size. I always get so many compliments when I wear them and they look so expensive but they are such a good price! Love these! I might need the black too.

Thanks for reading!
Til next time,
Danielle

How to find the right wide leg pants for your body type

Wide leg pants, yay or nay?

I've always thought that wide leg pants would be something that would never work for me. For awhile, I did not even considering them an option when shopping for outfits. I dabbled in the trend this summer, and I now think anyone can absolutely rock them!

         https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1WhVtgu4jlErBMym0bYvUglLgfpSsRsY0

My body type is pear shaped and my waist is bigger than my hips.

To make these high waist pants work for me:

  • I chose a color that was neutral. Neutral is a safe choice when trying a new style!
  • I chose to wear nude shoes. Nude will lengthen your legs! I'm pretty tall already (5'6) but If I were to wear a black sandal or even white, it would cut off my leg.
  • Choose a shoe without an ankle strap. An ankle strap will cut you off, and make you appear shorter than you already are.
  • I paired it with a neutral top as well for a monochromatic look, and felt so incredibly chic!
  • Pair it with something tight on top. If you are going flowy on bottom, make sure to do the opposite on top so you do not loose your shape!

For my petite girls - Make sure you get a high waist pair that hits above the ankle! And pair it with a nude shoe to lengthen your legs.

For my tall girls - Show off them legs! Try a wide side slit trouser.

If you are hourglass - define your waist with a tie waist wide leg trouser!

If your shape is inverted triangle - Try a full length wide leg pant that grazes the ground. It will create balance between your top and bottom half.

If you are apple shape - Wide leg pants that are full length! But make sure they are not high waisted.

Rectangle shape - you can opt for just about any wide leg pant!

I hope these tips are helpful! I've highlighted a couple body types that might need some guidance when trying the trend of wide leg pants. If you have a question about your body type or what style you should get, leave me a comment or DM me on Instagram.

Rome Travel Guide - What to see, eat, & do in Rome

Hi guys, Rome was a blast and definitely a sight to see. There are so many tourist attractions that are amazing & delicious food. We stayed for a week but I think you could probably see all of Rome in 4-5 days.

I'm going to break this post down my category, so that it is easier for you guys to locate what you need from this post!

FOOD

First up,  food. Food's always the best part, right?  We tried some really good spots. Something to note about Rome is that it's mostly 'take out' food. Their culture was built on take out & a lot of places don't have sitting areas. It's more of a grab your food & go type of thing. If you want to sit, I definitely recommend going to a nicer spot.

1. Alfredo ALLA SCROFA - Fettuccine alfredo is probably one of my favorite Italian dishes. This spot is the people who originally invented this dish. It was so cool to experience it from where it was made. Service was great & drinks were lovely too. When they bring your plate to you, they cover it in parmesan and toss the pasta for you right in front of you. This spot is finer dining, but I would definitely recommend.

2. La Freschetta - Ok this place was bomb! The drinks were so good  (I had an aperol spritz for the first time, bomb) and the food was even better! My sister and mom got pasta dishes and I ordered a pizza that came straight out of a brick oven. We also tried appetizers of bruschetta, suppli& fried mozzarella. Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures of the food ( I ate it before I could haha) but I would definitely recommend this spot! So yummy and unique.

3.  Al Forno della Soffitta - This was THE BEST pizza of the whole trip. All the ingredients were so fresh and made in an oven right in front of you. If you're looking for tasty thin crust pizza, this is the spot. It wasn't busy around 3 pm so when we ordered the pizza it took literally ten minutes to come to your table. Now that is fresh! I put a picture of the pizza from this spot here!

4. Giolitti- Best Gelato in all of Rome. Don't waste your time at the other spots, this is where the locals go!

5. Pastificio  - For 4 euro you can get pasta & wine. This is an amazing price! This spot is near the spanish steps & is great if you just want something really quick to eat. Not five star dining, but none the less a great spot for a decent lunch! They make two pastas daily and it varies by the day.

6. Caffe Vatican - If you're visiting the Vatican, grab a cappicino or espresso at this spot! So delicious and my favorite one.

7. Antico Caffe Greco - I had a delicious caffe latte with soy here. This spot is in the spanish steps where the luxury shopping is. I loved it! It was a super old coffee shop and had such cute decor.

8. Tazza d'oro Caffè - A super yummy coffee shop right next to the Panthenon. Extremely busy, be prepared to drink and go.

9. Canova Tadolini - This cafe is so cool! It has sculptures inside of it which I thought was so interesting and unique.

SIGHTS

  • Trevi Fountain - You must make a wish here! So touristy but so fun and the fountain is just breath taking.

How to Save up for Designer Goods - Guilt Free

As the year comes to an end, it's time to think about 2019.  This year, I want to invest in myself. I decided that instead of buying so much 'fast fashion', I want to start buying investment pieces I know I can keep forever that are worth the money. Reel is going to help me do just that!

WHAT IS REEL?

Reel is a guilt free shopping platform. What I mean by that is, you can search Reel for just about any item you want! The website is mostly luxury goods, such as Gucci, Saint Laurent, Valentino, etc. Reel helps you set a realistic goal so you can figure out how to get the designer products without swiping your credit card. It helps you budget your own money! Ah-mazing right?

How does it save your money?

Once you pick the item you want to save for, you can pick how many days you want to save and how much you want to save each day. For example, I want to purchase a Saint Laurent card holder.  I decided to divide it between 68 days. Each day, Reel will take 4.98 out of my bank account. I will have the cardholder in 68 days! They will place the order and ship it to me and boom it's mine.

I'll be honest, anytime I have bought a luxury item I have bought it with a credit card. It will be so surreal to have a designer item I have actually paid cash for in my possession. Another thing I want to touch on is that even though the website focuses on saving for luxury goods, you can save for everyday things such as a pair of Nike gym shoes as well.

What if I change my mind? What if I want to save less?

Reel allows you to always be able to adjust how you save. If you want to stop saving for a period of time, you can always pause Reel. In the case that you change your mind, you can always choose another product and the funds you were saving will transfer to your new item. What I love about Reel is that it helps you truly invest in the things you want to buy and it stops you from impulse shopping.

Trend Edit: Plaid For Fall

Mad For Plaid

I don't know if you guys can tell but I have been living in plaid this fall. My favorite plaid piece is probably this menswear blazer. One of the reasons I love it so much is I scored it on super sale at Nordstrom Rack's clear the rack sale. The other reason I love it is the multiple ways it can be styled.

How I styled it here:

Other ways:

  • Black dress & heels
  • White tee, light wash jeans, sneakers
  • Graphic tee, sneakers and denim
  • Blouse, Dress pants & ballet flats
  • Lace cami, ripped jeans & booties

Trend Edit: Corduroy Skirt

I've probably been searching for a corduroy skirt for like two seasons now. I could never find one that was a perfect fit for my body type. I'm definitely pear shaped a lot of my weight in my hips. Sometimes when shopping for mini skirts, it's so hard to find something flattering and not too short! This topshop one is perfect!! I'm so happy with it and I snagged it during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale.

If you want to shop this exact one, topshop runs pretty small. I'm usually an 8/10 but I ordered the 12.

Outfit details:  Skirt // Turtleneck // Bag // Booties // Hoops

I love pairing it with a turtleneck and sock booties. So perfect for fall temps, especially since it's still been SO warm outside.

I've also styled it with a white sweater and tan booties. Super cute! There is so many different ways to work this skirt into your fall wardrobe. I will probably end up wearing it for Thanksgiving too because I love it so much and I think it's so fitting!

How to transition your summer looks for fall

How to buy clothes that will transition into fall is something I always think about. Living in Chicago, you can get four seasons in one day. I try to focus on buying pieces that can be good for Winter or Summer. Two polar opposites, I know. Bear with me as I explain my logic!

1. Black Lace Cami - this thing is awesome. I layer it under all my cardigans, leather jackets, etc. It looks great and gives a feminine look to any outfit. It's also perfect in the summertime as is. For 12 dollars, it's a closet must have.

2. Paper Bag mini skirt - I love this skirt so much! I think the color is really important on why this piece transitions. It's an olive shade, so it works in winter and fall seasons.  I wear it in the winter with a black turtleneck, tights & booties. SO cute! In the summer, you can pair it with wedges and a cami. In the fall, trade it your wedges for open-toe booties & a light cardigan on top. I love the versatility of this skirt.

Cherry Top For Work Or Play

Happy Saturday everyone

This is such a fun look that I've been wanting to share with you guys! This cherry top is instantly a new favorite for me. I'm not much of a button down kind of girl, unless it has a girly twist to it. This cherry one is perfect, and in stock right here for only 18!

My look:

Top // Denim // Shoes // Sunglasses // Bag

I paired it with my favorite crop slim boyfriend jeans. If you are on the hunt for a boyfriend jean that flatters a fuller figure, these are the ones. I feel like they hug in the right places and are the right amount of crop & right amount of skinny.  They also just went on SALE! For 89 - original 135ySuch a quality pair of denim I would recommend to anyone!

Lemon Love

Hey everyone! This lemon print dress is easily a summer favorite. So easy to throw on, with flat sandals or wedges. I love that it's easy to dress up or down & so comfortable for summer.
